In a market overflowing with gold bullion coins, the Austrian 100 Corona attracts a lot of attention for its breathtaking design. Each coin weighs slightly less than one ounce, a nonstandard size in today’s 1-ounce bullion coin market. Originally minted in Austria and Hungary from 1908 to 1914, most of these coins in the marketplace date to 1915. In 1916, these coins were minted as restrikes to honor the reign of Franz Josef I, Emperor of Austria from 1848 to 1916.
